If you love French food, then a stay at Le Chevrefeuille in the Dordogne region of France, could be your ideal family holiday destination. With family cooking courses, demonstrations and tours on offer for the whole family to experience at this family-friendly holiday complex.
One half of the husband & wife team that own Le Chevrefeuille, is a chef. Ian trained at Le Talbooth in Essex before Sara & he decided to move their family to the gastronomic capital of France – Perigord Noir. They transformed an 18th Century Farmhouse into a stunning guesthouse with two gites and families have been enjoying holidays here since 2004. There is also a super pool, animals to feed, grounds to explore and the location is wonderful too!
In 2012 Ian opened an on-site cookery school – Cook Dordogne. Cook Dordogne offers cookery courses as well as cooking demonstrations & guided market visits.
Family cooking course – ½ day every Thursday
All ages are welcome to join the family course – children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Ian will show you how to prepare & cook a delicious but simple two-course lunch.
This is a great activity for families & friends to enjoy together as a group – watch out parents, the kids might become better cooks than you!
All children taking part on the course will receive a ‘Junior Chef Participation Certificate’.

One day Culinary Course – Tuesday or Thursday
This course is aimed at adults – babysitting for your little ones can be arranged in advance.
The day starts with a guided market tour to find & select ingredients, Ian is very knowledgeable and will be able to give you lots of information about the best local & seasonal ingredients to use.
After a couple of hours at the market the rest of the day is spent preparing & cooking a wonderful three course meal, all under Ian’s guidance.
Depending on the time of year, the cookery classes are held in the outdoor kitchen (high summer).

Cookery Demonstration & Market Tour
If cooking isn’t your thing but eating is, a cookery demonstration would be perfect.
Ian will prepare & cook various local dishes with ‘tasters’ of every dish.
Guests are also welcome on the guided market tour where Ian will give plenty of tips on buying & cooking the local produce.
