Tortoise Corner is a beautiful holiday home in the village of Llucmacsanes just south of Mahon, the capital of Menorca. Llucmacsanes is a traditional Menorcan village, with a lovely child friendly restaurant, and close to the supermarket which has a wonderful bakery. The holiday home has 6 en-suite bedrooms, the 12m swimming pool with roman steps and is fully enclosed. The well equipped kitchen leads onto a dining room which in turn leads onto an enclosed outside dining area. You also have access to a BBQ and the kids love the natural garden and all the wild roaming tortoises. The entire property is surrounded by a dry stone wall meaning the kids can play freely without their parents worrying about them. The house is perfect for multigenerational holidays or groups of friends travelling together. Sleeping up to 12, you dont need to worry about feeling on top of each other – the bedrooms are well spread out so everyone has their own space and privacy.
Most young families find the actual travelling to their destination very stressful. Menorca is a 2 and a half hour flight form the UK and the airport is small and friendly. Tortoise corner is 5 minutes drive from the airport – there is nothing worse than another long journey after a long journey. The holiday home is very child friendly, and they can supply most items needed when travelling with little ones. If you are arriving late, they can arrange food packages which really do come in handy. If you plan on hiring a car for your holiday, they can arrange this for you (with no hidden costs) too.
There are many attractions within a 5 to 10 minutes drive from Tortoise Corner. Beaches, a water park, local markets, nature reserve, the capital Mahon, and the port. The island is known for its fiestas, each town or village has their own fiesta – most famous is the Saint Joan or Sant Juan which is in Ciutadella (in June). Here are a list of all of the island fiestas which are a definite must:

One of the main reasons people return to Menorca year after year is because it’s different. Unspoilt beaches, a destination perfect for families and one that has purposely avoided the noise of package holiday resorts. Menorca is quieter than Ibiza and Mallorca, perfectly suited to young families or couples wanting to combine beautiful beaches, fine dining, scenery and if wanted some nightlife. As well as lovely beaches the food on the island is excellent with all the restaurants being very welcome to children.
