Doggy friendly staycations

We are all going to need a holiday, when we can, including those little fur-balls!

Greenwood Grange – Devon

A selection of award-winning holiday cottages in Dorset. There are 17 holiday cottages ranging in sizes, some with private gardens and hot tubs. There is a swimming pool, sauna and even a games room on site. Lots of walks on the doorstep and beaches only a short drive away.

Almost half the cottages at Greenwood Grange are dog-friendly, the grounds include a fully enclosed dog exercise area. A charge of £25 per dog, per stay, will be applied at time of booking. Bowls, feeding mats and leads if forgotten can be supplied and a doggy welcome pack for all four legged friends will be in your cottage on arrival. There is an information folder available in all of the dog-friendly cottages containing details of local dog friendly pubs, restaurants and attractions in the area.

Tregongeeves – St Austell, Cornwall

Family friendly farm-stay home to a cluster of seven self-catering holiday cottages, with fabulous facilities such as indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, play barn, play room and friendly farm residents to meet and feed.

There are 22 acres at Tregongeeves and three of these luxury cottages are not only family friendly but dog friendly too. I’s not just the two legged guests who are welcomed with goodies such as homemade scones but doggies also get treats on arrival. There are books and guides on hand in the recreation room for dog walkers and there is also a dog shower on site to wash those muddy paws after an adventurous walk.

With many walks starting at Tregongeeves, close to some of Cornwall’s most beautiful dog friendly beaches, coastal paths and woodlands, it is an ideal holiday base from which the whole family can explore. The local pub, The Polgooth Inn is within walking distance and is dog friendly too!

New Forest Escapes – Various locations scattered around the New Forest

We have four properties shown on Holiday Tots that are not only baby and toddler friendly, but dog friendly too! All greatly positioned to explore the wonders and wildlife of the New Forest National park and perfectly distanced to explore some of the seaside towns or take a scroll along the beaches.

The Post Office Cottage, one dog on request with a £40 charge per stay – wonderful walks along the coastal paths and beaches allow dogs all year round! Ploughmans Cottage, £40 per dog per stay – they say the garden is well enclosed but ‘Houdinis may still escape’. Slate Cottage, 2 dogs up to 20kgs are welcome at £40 per dog, per stay – the garden is enclosed and well fenced to 4 feet. Coastguard Cottage, one small dog welcome under 15kgs £32 per stay.

Nettlecombe Farm – Isle of Wight

This fantastic farm-stay on the Isle of Wight is home to nine family and dog friendly holiday cottages as well as offering an amazing animal experience, a three coarse fishing lake and not forgetting Pilates and yoga.

The Isle of Wight is a great location for dogs, with its fabulous coastline and countryside, ready to explore. Most of the local pubs and cafes near to Nettlecombe Farm are dog-friendly too. There is a great walking guide offered to guest showing off the local area and what it has to offer. A small chage of £25 per dog, per stay.

Croft Farm and Celtic Cottages – Wales

Here is another farm-stay in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Award-winning cottages, most with hot tubs. There is so much to do on site, including meeting all the farm animals and splashing around in the indoor swimming pools.

Dogs are welcome in 8 out of their 10 cottages with lots of doggy poo bags and a lovely chew for the dogs on arrival. Onsite dogs are allowed of the leads to stretch those legs in Croft Farm’s fields where there are no livestock, walks can be enjoyed without the need of walking along any roads. Within 5 miles is the wonderful coast, with beautiful beaches and cafes that also welcome dogs. There is a £5 charge per dog per night, however two miniatures can travel on a two for one basis.

Lantern and Larks – Various areas within the England

Lantern and Larks are home to a collection of glamping retreats in various locations across England including Somerset, Suffolk, Rutland and Lancashire. Each glamping tent can sleep up to 6 all with comfortable beds and there is aa gas powered shower and WC located in each tent, giving privacy. They are positioned peacefully in the countryside on private land, in fab locations ready to explore during the day and relax around the log fire at night!

Lantern and Larks glamping retreats are perfectly placed for families that love the outdoors and are looking to take their dog on holiday too! The interior of each accommodation is dog-friendly and spacious. There is cold water on tap and plenty of running space! There is a small charge for dogs to holiday here, £20 per dog per stay!

Coulscott House – North Devon

A cluster of six self catering, child-friendly luxury cottages located in Devon situated just half a mile from Exmoor and not far at all from the coast. Coulscott House has a shared heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor play area, indoor soft play, games room and animals to meet and help feed.

There are 16 acres of grounds with 5 acres dedicated to the dogs to be let off the lead and roam freely, under guests control. Coulscott is perfectly positioned for a doggy holiday with dog friendly beaches, walks and attractions being so close. On arrival guests receive a doggy welcome pack which includes things such as dog towel, ID tag, dog treats, water bowl, dog toy, and dog poo bags. There is a small charge per property of £25 per dog, per stay.
