Tredethick farm not only has wonderful cosy self-catering holiday cottages to accommodate families on holiday in Cornwall, but also has amazing facilities for everyone, including; the farmyard itself where guests can enjoy meeting, greeting and feeding the friendly animals! Oh, and enjoy a pony ride or two!
At Tredethick there is an endless supply of ‘fun’ to be had, with an indoor heated swimming pool, ready and waiting for toddlers (and adults) to have a splash around! There is fabulous balance bike track for little monsters to zoom around on and even a soft play area! Venture outside to the play park for some outdoor fun in the sun and then head off to the play barn for a little shade of for days when it is raining.
I could go on but that is not why we are here, it is time to see what’s beyond Tredethick too so the lovely team at Tredethick farm have put together a couple of activities to be enjoyed on foot, right from the cottage doorsteps.
- Tredethick 70 acres
Tredethick has 70 acres of meadows and woodland space, ready for those families to explore. There is a story map of the farm trail which treads play features such as climbing frames, log bridges, steppingstones and tree platforms and tells children about the wildlife in their woodlands. Guests can call into the office and grab one of Tredethick scavenger hunt bags (there are two versions, one for pre-schoolers and one for primary school children to help the little ones to explore nature and to keep them moving – This sounds like a fun adventure!
- Angie’s Caravan
An afternoon adventure, following from the farm trail on through the woods and onto a footpath that runs alongside the River Fowey. The footpath brings guests to the picturesque hamlet of St Winnow with its riverside church, and more importantly, Angie’s caravan. Angie, the farmer’s wife, sells the most delicious homemade pasties, bacon baps, cream teas, and ice cream. There is even a little farm museum with a collection of old tractors and farm implements. – This sounds like a well-deserved treat after an afternoon stroll through the woods if you ask me!
For the families with little ones, Tredethick farm have baby carrier backpacks for guests to borrow.
If you want to know what’s on a little further afield how about adventures in a five-minute car ride?
Lerryn is only a five-minute drive from Tredethick farm with beautiful woods walk, good coffee and steppingstones.
The ancient and picturesque town of Lostwithiel and Restormel Castle (14th motte and baily castle), is also a five-minute drive away.
If guests can tear themselves away from the wonderful farm-stay, there really is some fun to be enjoyed outside, including The Eden Project and The Lost Garden of Heligan which are both within a 20 minutes drive!
Is it worth adding Tredethick Farm to your bucket list? We think so!!
