Are you heading to Cornwall this summer ? If you’re looking to book something different for your kids while you’re there – check out Cygnets Art School – new for Summer 2021.
Cygnets is a fantastic new children’s art school opening this Summer at The Island Centre in the heart of St Ives. Although Cygnets is a franchise with branches across the country, St Ives will be only the third opened by the original Cygnets founders: married artists Tabby and Hessy, since they moved to Cornwall last year. The school will run workshops throughout each school holiday and half term, for local and visiting children, as well as term time classes and private tuition.
Cygnets’ focus is on the teaching of traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. The special step-by-step teaching method means that students as young as five can follow advanced topics and mediums, whilst learning new skills that can be used for a lifetime. Each project is carefully designed by Tabby and Hessy to impart core artistic techniques and knowledge, whilst always remaining fun; and students will leave each class with a beautiful new artwork! Classes are always kept small, with a high student-teacher ratio, so that everyone receives lots of individual help and attention.
Cygnets St Ives will launch this Summer with 12 days of amazing workshops for ages 6-12, covering the theme of The British Coast, including: Dolphins with Ink, Acrylic Cornish Landscape, and Sketching Shells with Pencil. There are three workshops on each day, so students can attend individual ones, or bring a packed lunch and stay for all of them. All materials are included and there’s no need for parents to stay: giving you the chance to explore all that St Ives has to offer in the meantime!
