Croft Farm and Celtic Cottages
Croft Farm and Celtic Cottages is a fabulous complex of award-winning luxury farm cottages in Pembrokeshire, some of which have hot tubs and there are a collection of dog friendly cottages too. Not only are there some beautiful cottages on the farm but it is also home to a few fun, friendly animals and fab facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and big play barn.
This farm-stay is located in the rural countryside and only 4 miles from the sea in West Wales. As there is so much to see and do, we thought we would give you a little taster on what it would be like to spend at day at Croft Farm…
9:30am – Walking fun
Toddlers and babies are normally early risers, so for families with little ones, the day begins after breakfast with a lovely morning stroll around the farm. Croft Farm has its own farm walk with a pathway around the perimeter of the 6 acre fields. Enjoy the beautiful views overlooking the Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire countryside. What better way to start the day! Families with dogs appreciate being able to walk the dogs safely on the farm too!
10:30am – Animal feeding fun!
Time to head over to meet and feed the farm residents: Eeyore and Jessie the donkey, the two loveable goats Laurel and Hardy, the kune kune pigs and the sheep. Don’t forget to collect some eggs from the chickens to take back for a Spanish omelette dinner later or an eggy brekki tomorrow.

11:30am – Whizzing around in and out of the play barn
After the excitement of meeting and feeding the animals, and a little snack, the play barn is calling! Little ones can whizz around on the ride on toys, play in the playhouse or just enjoy having their hands up in the air while going down the slides. Older children and adults can get a little competitive with a game of table tennis, table football or air hockey?

12:30pm – Lunch stop!
Time to head back to the cottage for a well-deserved lunch break. The kitchens in the cottages are fully equipped. Cardigan is just 3 miles away where there is a Tesco superstore as well as a range of smaller local shops and bakeries with locally grown veg. Maybe an little nap time and cuppa for mum or dad?

2:30pm – Swimming pool madness
Guests can book the pool in one hour slots, exclusively for their family. Once lunch has settled, get changed and ready for a splash around the indoor swimming pool. The pool is heated so it’s great all year round.

4:00pm – Outdoor fun
After swimming, get dry and grab a quick snack. The outdoor playground is the perfect place for kids to burn off a bit of steam on the climbing nets, monkey bars, firemen’s pole and slides. There are regular swings as well as toddler swing baskets – catering for all ages!
5:00pm – Farm walk
It’s nearly dinner time, but there is still time for a quick stroll around the farm. Everyone staying at Croft Farm can walk around the farm anytime of the day. Chat to Jessie and Eeyore the donkeys, Laurel and Hardy the ‘giddy’ goats who are always up for a chat. Enjoy a cuddle with the rabbits and guinea pigs in the Pet Corner.

6:00pm – Dinner and chill time
Time for an easy quick dinner and bath for the little ones, a catch up on everyone’s best part of the day. Why don’t you scrap cooking all together and order a takeaway pizza or a curry – you are on holiday after all! After a full-on day, the kids should sleep soundly.
8:00pm – Adult time!
The adults will most likely be feeling a little tired too. Four of the cottages at Croft Farm have hot tubs, so once the kids have gone down, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a glass of wine or bubbly in the hot tub. The cottages also have log burners, so curl up on the sofa and get cosy, discussing what fun tomorrow will bring!
Above is a perfect day in the life at Croft Farm, but that is not all…
Croft Farm is a Certified Dark Sky Area, if your little ones are interested in the night time sky and stars why not keep them up late one night and enjoy the milky way and look for shooting stars.
If you are celebrating a special occasion and would like a chef cooked meal in the cottage, this can be arranged too. The chef will cook and serve your meal in the cottage (minimum of 4 people required), they can even come and cook you a hearty breakfast.
Heading a little further out?
The farmer’s market is on a Tuesday morning in St Dogmaels near the ruined Abbey. Guest can get local produce to cook in their cottages or even take back home once the holiday has finished. Croft Farm is just under 5 miles from the beautiful Poppit Sands, heading there for an afternoon/morning or even a full day when the weather is nice, is a really lovely treat. Pengelli National Nature Reserve is a well-maintained ancient woodland with mapped out walks for kids and adults alike (not accessible to those who are in wheelchairs or less able to walk). The Welsh wildlife centre, Cilgerran have mapped out walks and often have educational activities on for children.
Croft Farm and Celtic Cottages is the perfect farm stay for everyone! The owners Andy and Sylvie have raised 5 children of their own so they understand how hard it can be to find somewhere that caters for kids of all ages, from tots to young teens – as we all know, happy children make for happy parents!
