We are very excited to be working with Feather Down Farms, a collection of fab canvas hideaways on private farms throughout the UK, Holland, France, and Germany. Staying on a farm means you are helping the local economy, while being part of nature and learning where local food comes from. For stays this September Feather Down are offering a £75 discount, you just have to decide which location is best for you and your family to experience…
The beautiful canvas hideaways are well kitted out, fresh running water, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds of course and a flushing loo too! Most of the tents come with their own private shower inside or outside, otherwise there is your own allocated cubicle in the farm-house shower block. You won’t find electricity on a Feather Down Farm, meaning no TV or anywhere to charge those screens. Enjoy the simple life, without any gadgets that can take over the holiday experience and be part of nature instead. Expect oil lamps, candles and even hands-on grinding of coffee beans, a wood burning stove to keep you warm as well as cosy beds and bedding. The wood burning stove isn’t there to just keep you warm and cosy, but it is there for some slow cooking while the kids are having a play.

Each farm has an honesty shop for guests to use. It is great for the bare necessities and is stocked with lots of local produce. There are weekly pizza nights too, where everyone can gather round to share their story on the fun adventures, they may have had that day.

Here are some of the sites we are showcasing on Holiday Tots:
Sunninglye Farm – Kent
Surrounded by woodlands on the beautiful borders of Kent and Sussex. There are only five canvas hideaways here each of which sleep up to 6. Guests can choose between en-suite shower or private outdoor shower. There are play areas, animals to meet and feed including goats, chickens, pigs, sheep, and a horse who loves to be pampered. There is also a pond with boats and kayaks.

Glastonbury Hill Farm – Somerset
Stunning views of the countryside and on a clear day you can even see the coast in the distance. Expect wildlife such as barn owls and deer and more domesticated animals to meet. Walks right on Glastonbury Hill Farm’s doorstep including three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to explore; the Blackdown Hills, Mendip Hills or Quantock Hills.

New Barn Farm – Bedfordshire
Located just an hour from London, yet in a rural, peaceful location. There is a whole menagerie of animals here; a pig, three farm dogs, sheep, pygmy goats, geese, ducks, chickens and ponies to groom. Woods and fields to explore around the farm, guests can walk or even cycle.

Gwel Teg Farm – Cornwall
Finally, we head to Cornwall! Gwel Teg Farm is home to over 400 cows and guests can learn about milk production. There are also sheep, and bottle-feeding lambs in the spring. Only a 10-minute drive from Looe, a picturesque fishing harbour and near to some beautiful beaches.

Heydon Grove – Norfolk
Not far from Holt and the family-friendly seaside towns of Cromer and Blakeney, in a perfect location to explore the north Norfolk coast and countryside. There is a play area and bicycle hire too!

As you can see there is a fab choice of locations offering a family farm experience and all surrounded by beautiful countryside and family-friendly attractions, walks and days out.
