September Toddler Breaks at Bosinver: Cornwall’s Hidden Gem

As the busy summer season winds down, Cornwall in September reveals its secret charm: fewer crowds, golden light, and perfect weather. It’s an idyllic time for toddler-friendly breaks – and Bosinver makes it truly unforgettable.

Why September at Bosinver?
Quieter, more exclusive fun
With peak-tourist season behind us, September brings a more relaxed pace. Little ones can enjoy pony rides, animal feeding, and the swimming pool with fewer children around – giving families a more personal, undisturbed experience.
Warm weather and serene beaches
September sees daytime temperatures averaging over 20 °C, and with the sea at its warmest, it’s perfect for paddling and picnics on the beach.
Like‑minded families stay longer
Bosinver attracts preschool-aged guests in autumn – children have peers to play with if they wish, turning solo holidays into shared adventures.

Little Explorers’ Daily Delight:
Animal Feeding & Farm Life
Held every day except Saturdays, these sessions are kept small – around 5 cottages per slot – ensuring toddlers can interact closely with ducks, goats and chickens, all under careful, sanitized supervision.
Pony Rides
Daily rides (except Saturday) include safety‑hat provisions and close adult assistance, perfect for a toddler’s first pony experience.
Heated Indoor Pool
Each family can book a private 1‑hour session every other day, plus there’s open swim time – ideal for early paddlers and soothing dips.

Indoor & Outdoor Adventure
Soft Play Barn
Open 24/7, except during a quick clean each morning, this airy barn features tubes, slides, mats and trikes – a safe haven if the Cornish skies turn grey.
Games Room
Just beyond soft play, older siblings can enjoy table tennis, retro games, foosball and more.
Explore the 30 Acres
From “Gruffalo Trail” woodland walks to zip wires, swings, sand pits and playhouses, Bosinver’s outdoor grounds are toddler-sized adventure heaven.

Cottage Comforts & Inclusivity
Your stay at Bosinver includes: Cots, stair gates, high chairs, night lights, plug covers, toy boxes and children’s books/DVDs. Play barn, animal feeding, pony rides, indoor swimming, outdoor play equipment, games room, tennis court, trails and more – no hidden fees. Homes are thoughtfully equipped for toddlers and babies – everything from sterilisers to black-out blinds, and even first swimming lessons with in‑house instructors.

Cornwall Charm: Quieter, Not Empty
September in Cornwall offers the perfect balance: less crowded beaches like Polkerris – just a 20-minute drive away – still buzzing with families enjoying safe sandy play and local eateries . Bosinver’s own woodland sunsets and beachside evenings feel extra special this time of year.

Don’t believe us ? Some recent reviews from Bosinver Guests:

We visited as a family, and my daughter-in-law said there was nothing that could have made the holiday better! The quality of the accommodation is outstanding, and the variety of children’s activities is exceptional – everything feels so genuine, wholesome, and thoughtfully designed. Our 2-year-old grandchildren were enchanted by the free-roaming ducks and chickens, and they absolutely loved the soft play and zip wires. The swimming pool was another highlight – just fantastic. It really felt like a little slice of paradise. A huge thank you to the wonderful Bosinver team for making it so special.

This was our third stay at Bosinver, and this time we stayed in Lowen – our favourite cottage so far. It was spotlessly clean, really well equipped, and felt like a true home from home. As always, the Bosinver team were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The morning animal feed with Farmer Dave continues to be the highlight of our stay – it never gets old! Having exclusive use of the swimming pool, the 24/7 soft play barn, pony rides, and the adventure-packed Danger Trail made this break absolutely ideal for our family and our two young children (ages 4 and 2). We also loved using Nanny Pat’s book of recommendations to plan our days out – such a thoughtful touch. We’re already counting down the days until our return next year!
