Mauritius is very accessible from the UK. British Airways fly five times a week, direct from London Gatwick, with a slightly reduced schedule over the UK summer season of three direct flights a week. Flight time is around 12 hours and both flights are night flights, great for little ones. There are also many indirect options too if BA isn’t flying on the date you need.
Benefits of going in UK summer – low season in Mauritius so accommodation prices and flights are lower than high season – resorts will be quieter and the weather will be warm but not too hot, ideal for babies and toddlers.
Benefits of going in UK winter –perfect winter sun destination with high temperatures and long sunny days.
Situated on the East coast of Mauritius, Anahita Golf and Spa resort is set amongst 213 hectares of tropical gardens and an Ernie Else designed golf course. Anahita has something for everyone in the family – be it golf, spa, kids / teens club, beaches – everyone is sure to have an amazing time.
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the perfect room.
If you opt for one of their Prestige Suites, you can choose from 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms which all feature a spacious living area, kitchen (with coffee and washing machine) and a plunge pool. You can also request that you have your continental breakfast daily, in your suite at no extra cost.
Deluxe Villa’s come in 1,2 or 3 bedroom options, again you will have a fully equipped kitchen, living area and private pool with deck.
If a Prestige Villa is more your style, you can choose from 1,2,3, 4 or 5 bedrooms – meaning you can easily invite the WHOLE family, even the grandparents! If you go for the larger ones (3, 4 or 5 bedrooms) you will get a private butler who will prepare your breakfast in the villa for you, every morning! How amazing is that? These Villas have gourmet kitchens, a private garden and a pool with a deck too.
Anahita also offer the option to fence in the private pools if required. Cots and high chairs can also be provided if, free of charge.
Ok, so you’ve arrived and checked into your chosen accommodation – now it’s time to explore the resort.
Just a few of our favourite activities you need to check out:
Golf – if you’re a golf lover, this resort has 2 championship golf courses – Golf is complimentary on both courses and includes green fees, 55 practise balls and one hour of daily golf initiation.
Spa – is there anything better than a massage or facial while on holiday? Single and double treatment rooms all with private gardens as well as a tea veranda. Enjoy a tea ceremony to compliment your tea-based treatments.

Kids and Teens Club – The kids club takes kids from 8 month up to 12 years old. It is free for kids aged 4 +. All of the staff in the Kids Club are qualified nannies with recognised qualifications. I love how the activities are age based so there is something for all ages. While the littlies play Duplo or make sandcastles the older kids can go on a butterfly hunt, go on a pedal boat / kayak or play golf ! It is open from 8:30am – 8pm
The Teens Club is there for kids from 13-18 years old. The activities available are perfect for your adventurous teenager – they include stand up paddle boarding, water polo, snorkelling and more.
Anahita Leisure park is 15 minutes from the resort, here you can find many activities for the whole family – quad biking, horse riding, a kids village for the younger guests including inflatables. Back at the resort there are tennis courts and bicycles for both children and adults which are complimentary if used in the resort. The Boat House offers complimentary glass bottomed boat trips, snorkelling , windsurfing, stand up paddle boards etc while the diving centre offers PADI courses and diving if you are already certified.
If you’re a foodie, you’ll be spoilt for choice – 5 restaurants, a coffee shop, bar, room service, private chef options, you can even order items off a shopping list if you’d prefer to make your own food in your villa – which is great if you’re weaning or have a fussy little one.

One of the best things, for me, about this resort is how they are able to tailor make your holiday. Babysitters are available if you want to have a romantic meal, the chef will prepare special meals around dietary requirements. The Kids and Teen clubs mean that the kids can have fun but so can the adults – time for those activities that aren’t particularly suitable for the kids.
I love that the villas have kitchens – I know when I’m away with my daughter, I like to give her an early dinner in the room and then head out for dinner a little later – nothing worse than staying at a hotel and having to eat dinner at 5pm with the kids, well for me anyway.
If you’re looking for a luxury family holiday, of 5 star standard – where everyone’s needs are catered for from the time you arrive, Anahita Golf and Spa Resort should definitely be at the top of your list. Check out our listing here
