I love to camp with the family, I love the freedom it gives everyone and the chance to sit in nature waiting for the kettle to heat up in the morning for that first cup of tea after a bit of a bumpy sleep. The kids are tired from all the fresh air and freedom of exploring and the adults are usually tired from a bit of a late night too. Watching everyone slowly surface, chatting about the day before or planning the day ahead is my favourite time.
However, not everyone in the family enjoys camping as much as I do and so we tried out a family glamping holiday and it gave everyone the best of both worlds. We glamped for the first time about 8 years ago when the boys were about 5. We had been camping before that, but never glamping. I must admit having comfy beds was a bit of a luxury, and everyone was still able to enjoy everything else that camping brings.
So if you are a family of campers vs luxury holidays, why not try your hand at glamping, there is something for everyone. Here are some family-friendly glamping options on Holiday Tots with young kids to consider for your next family adventureā¦
