This lovely family friendly farm is set in a rural location on the Isle of Wight, surrounded by countryside and fishing lakes and only 15 minutes away from a beach. What is there to do on Nettlecombe Farm?
Nettlecombe farm has some loving and friendly farmyard residents who always like a friendly face to say hello to. One of the main attractions at the farm that keeps bringing the families back are the animal feeding tours. The feeding tours take place Monday to Friday starting at 8:30am every day during spring and summer and three times a week from October to Easter. Lamb bottle feeding can be enjoyed through the springtime. All the animals need a cuddle and a feed, including rabbits, goats’ chickens, pig, geese, donkeys, alpacas and even the reindeers, it doesn’t stop there, the list can keep going…
For older kids there is a sports area ideal for football or letting off steam. There is also a toddler play area and other playing equipment including a wooden tractor and a rustic climbing frame.
Fishing can be enjoyed all year round here on one of their three lakes, covering an area of one and a half acres. The largest recorded fish caught to date was an 20lb carp, caught by a 12-year-old (looks like the kids will be helping you on this one!).
For a little relaxation Yoga and Pilate classes run both morning and afternoon. The experienced teachers offer weekly classes, workshops and even special retreats at the farm.
Out and about on the Isle of Wight?
There is an extensive list of family-friendly activities to be enjoyed on Isle of Wight from arts and crafts to some fantastic walking and cycling routes. 500 miles of footpaths with some fab scenery, varied from coast to countryside. Horse riding is also a popular activity on the Isle of Wight with several equestrian centres/riding schools for all ages and abilities. Golf? Well there are eight golf courses on the Island some with some breath-taking views.
There is also tree climbing, water sports and some great attractions like the Isle of Wight Zoo and Isle of Wight Steam railway.
