Well that was a windy old weekend wasn’t it? Storm Ciara truly battered parts of the country but I must say we tried to not let it dampen our weekend. Obviously we had to be sensible and safe and pick our moments but we made sure we got out and enjoyed the weather this weekend eventhough parts of it were very chilly, very windy and wet !
I got in touch with Muddy Puddles as I had heard great things about their splash suits. They were kind enough to send us an EcoSplash Fleece Lined All-In-One and a pair of wellies for Georgia to test out – Thank You!
Georgia loves the outdoors, she isnt bothered by cold but she isnt a fan of being wet – she chose the yellow splash suit (her favourite colour) and was very excited when I explaind that she could wear this over her clothes and go crazy outside in the water and mud. On Saturday we went round nana’s and took the dogs for a walk – it was a beautiful winters day – crisp but dry. The ground was a bit muddy which made for a lot of fun – she was aprehensive at first but after she fell over and realised it didn’t matter, she really let go and was loving it.
For me, the best part was being able to ‘peel it off her’ and it was like it had never happened. We were also sent a Go Travel Wet or Dry bag which was perfect for her muddy wellies. We had just cleaned the car too so this meant the boot didnt end up covered in mud. My only wish is that it was a little bigger to be able to fit more in! I can image this would be great after swimming lessons or a day at the beach for the wet (and sand covered) cozzies too!
We woke up on Sunday to heavy winds and a lot of rain, my first thought was – ooh i bet there are loads of puddles out there. We had an appointment first thing but after lunch I said to Georgia, should we go outside for a walk ? At first she wasnt keen but when I mentioned that she could put on her yellow puddle suit and that there would be puddles, she was bang up for it. We live very close to a few allotments so we didnt have to go far to find them (it sounds like we are on a safari here – ha). I must admit, Im not really one for mess and dont normally like going out when its cold but to see her have so much fun on a really miserable day, made me realise that kids love being outdoors, in nature and to be able to make a mess.
The puddlesuit is fleece lined which is great because eventhough it was really cold outside – she was warm and snug. The EcoSplash puddle suit is made from recycled fabrics, is waterproof up to 5000mm and is breathable. It is also machine washable – perfect !
I plan to spending more time outside with Georgia, whatever the weather – if only they did adult sized puddle suits ? haha ! If you want to get your own, Muddy Puddles have a sale on at the moment – the RRP for this puddle suit is £50 but you can grab one for £37.50 at the moment. Click here to get yours now.
