All of us at Holiday Tots obviously LOVE a holiday, especially a group family getaway. Not being able to get away this year has left us a little deflated but that doesn’t mean we can’t dream of where to go when we can holiday again.
I have picked a selection of 5 family- friendly private villas with a private swimming pool, that I think are worth considering in the future for a family getaway, all are child-friendly.
1. Shanti Villas – Casa Cahombo
Portugal
A 7 bedroom villa with stunning countryside views located in Malhao, Portugal. This is a fab choice for a large group getaway with different generations.

- There are 7 bedrooms but the villa can be rented as 3 or 5 bedrooms

The villa is placed 4kms from Boilqueime and 8kms from Paderne, both have a selection of bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Then is 14kms from some lovely beaches in the Algarve.
Lanzarote
Another mutli-generational villa with amazing seaside views located in Lanzarote, Canary Island.

- There is a villa and yurt that can be rented together or separately
- The villa has 6 bedrooms

The villa is located on the outskirts of a little quiet village called Tabayesco with a tiny chapel, million miles from tourists yet only 25 minutes to the airport and only 1km from the village of Arrieta, Garita Bay Beach and local amenities. Menroca, Spain
A private secluded farmhouse, perfect base for families looking to holiday in Menorca, Spain.

This pretty child-friendly holiday home is located just 5minutes drive away from the port, airport and town of Mahon, where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants and nightlife. Within a 5 minute walk there is a lovely family-friendly restaurant, a bakery and local supermarket. Then only 5-10 minutes drive are beautiful sandy beaches for some seaside holiday family fun.
Dordogne, France
A charming house that dates back to the 1870 has been beautifully converted into a lovely home for families. The manor house is surrounded by wonderful views of vineyards and fields in Dordogne, France.

Within walking distance are some tennis courts, boules court and restaurants. The village approximately 2km is home to a french bakery, cafe, grocery, restaurant and a post office. There is a wonderful lake beach, 3km from the Manor house with sandy beaches, place to eat and a play garden.
Portugal
Last but not least is a luxurious private villa over looking the stunning sliver coast, in Portugal. They were recently awarded ‘Best Family Holiday Accommodation 2020 – Leiria’ in Lux Life magazine awards.

The sandy beach is only 1km away, Foz de Arelho, home to some fantastic restaurants, shops and bars. The villa is in a great location to explore the sliver coast, and only an hour away from the city of Lisbon.
