7 festive fun things to do in Cornwall this Christmas with the family

Christmas is fast approaching! Which means lots of fun for those who like to celebrate, the sparkly, festive fun is about to begin, if not has begun! We love Christmas, it’s a very magical time of year with lots of fun to be had, if you are heading to Cornwall this Christmas here are some fun ideas to add to the family’s to do list.

The Eden Project

Christmas at the Eden Project is an all new immersive music and light show. There will be 11 live musicians across multiple stages throughout the Biome and a new light display with sparkling fairy lights and so much more.

This must be pre-booked in advance and is in selected dates from 2nd-30th December.

The Lost Gardens if Heligan

Heligan Night Garden, A Magical Winter Experience. Families can journey through the garden trail, exploring the woodlands and gardens which is beautifully lit with enchanting lanterns.

Newquay Zoo

If you are planning a visit to the zoo, then it is a great time to meet Father Christmas. Santa’s will be in his magical grotto everyday from 17th – 24th December. They are also inviting children to come have breakfast with Santa on 20th December, where they can enjoy a yummy breakfast, a craft activity and receive a gift from Santa himself.

Camel Creek

Santa will be making an appearance at Camel Creek too. He is pretty busy this time of year you know : 0 ). Enter the immersive Santa experience through the Christmas tree forest. Kids will be able to enjoy some festive arts and crafts, meet Father Christmas himself in his grotto and journey through to the work some where the little ones can pick their own gift with the elves. Adults will love a warm drink and mince pie too.

Mousehole Harbour Lights

Display of beautiful lights across the village and harbour of Mousehole. Started in 1963, the lights are switched on each December till early January.

Bodmin Railway

Enjoy a festive train ride on a steam train with the family. Upon arrival back at Bodmin station, everyone will have the chance to meet Santa and have a photo taken with him. Enjoy some Christmas themed arts and crafts and receive a gift for the children.

Fowey Christmas Market

Who doesn’t enjoy a Christmas market? Fowey is a quiet harbour town which hosts one of the most magical festive events in Cornwall. Christmas shopping, local produced food and drinks, festive gifts, seasonal music and family entertained.
