Have you ever visited the New Forest? It is actually quite beautiful to visit any season with woodland walks, natural steams, wildlife and quaint villages and ponies!
Winter, okay yes it can be COLD but imagine how pretty it is in the frost? Plus, you can wrap up nice and toasty and when the walk is over, what better feeling than being able to pop the fire on, with a cup of hot chocolate, playing some games or watching a classic family film.
Spring, I would probably say is my favourite season, when all the trees and flowers are blossoming, such rich and vibrant colours, the woods would be lit up with its prettiness! Perfect temperature for walking and exploring.
Summer, quite possibly what everyone hopes for every year, a decent summer, with hot weather and bright sunny skies! With the sun shining, this is a great excuse to find those rivers in the woods, for a dip and play, it’s really nice to see the doggys and kiddies splash around!
Autumn, another beautiful season where the leaves are starting to fall and change colour – stunning! It is also Pannage Season in the New Forest at this time, which means around 600 pigs and piglets are released. Pigs are allowed to roam the forest to eat all the fallen nuts from the trees such as acorns and chestnuts, they can be poisonous to the ponies and cattle whose home is the Forest.
