Toddler friendly walks on the doorstep…
So many toddler-friendly walks that it’s hard to pick a favourite. Cardinham Woods with the Grufflao Trail, is certainly a popular choice with its Woods Cafe which has been crafted into a cosy haven with comfy sofas and log fire, ideal when the weather is gloomy – serves lunches and great cakes and hot chocolate. Lanhydrock and Respryn are other favourites and are buggy friendly.
Indoor family fun on for wet days…
Indoor heated swimming pool, soft play barn, sports hall and guess what? Animal feeding comes inside the barn too! Log fires in the cottages with limitless logs.



Heathland Lodge – Norfolk

Heathland Lodge is located within five star holiday park Kelling Heath. Toddler friendly walks right on the doorstep without needing a car, from woodland walks, kiddie and adult trim trails, pond dipping, special scavenger hunts depending on the time of year and three playgrounds to choose from. Bike hire within Kelling Heath too with bikes and child seats for all.
Lots of toddler-friendly beaches, enjoy jumping the waves in wellies, rock pooling and more.
Indoor fun family fun for wet days…
Indoor swimming pool for the whole family onsite and covered areas in the village square with entertainment and special events at certain times throughout the year. Jump on the steam train at Kelling Heath station which goes from Sheringham to Holt along the coastline with Weybourne and Kelling in the middle.



Polean Farm – Cornwall

The ancient Old smugglers track leading straight from the farm, a lovely walk down a quiet lane with no traffic, toddlers will LOVE splashing in the muddy puddles and the stream while making there way down to the old fishing village of Polperro.
Indoor fun on those wet days…
On-site there is a play barn with all child friendly games and toys to keep every toddler happy. Guests also have access to an indoor swimming pool nearby.
Visit Lanhydrock, a beautiful National Trust house which runs fun activities for all ages during October half term all things spooky ready for Halloween. Eden Project is another great hit for families with the indoor Biome’s.



Home Farm – Norfolk

Norfolk is the driest county so enjoy an easy flat stroll to Weybourne beach, ideal place for collecting shells and stone throwing. 10-15 minute stroll, there is a cafe for a coffee or some breakie and a dog friendly pub for lunch or dinner!

On-site there is an indoor heated swimming pool and a soft play room.



Knowle Farm – Devon

Within the grounds is a woodland and riverside walk which the little ones love! Knowle Farm provide an animal hunt sheet for the children to do, they have to find pictures of different animals on signs along the walk. There are also various walks a short drive away, such as Shipley Bridge, which has a paved path suitable for pushchairs.

The on-site facilities are largely set up with wet weather in mind, indoor swimming pool, soft play area and a play barn.



Glynn Barton – Cornwall

Right on the doorstep are the beautiful Laneskin woods. Take the trails to explore the forest, see the Buzzard in action and if you’re really lucky, the deer at dusk.
Indoor fun for wet days…
Snuggle up in the playroom with a good book a puzzle or a building competition. Slide into the soft play or splash around in the indoor heated swimming pool. Even though it is wet, throw on those wellies to go feed the animals!



Dittisham Hideaway – Devon

There is a short circular walk around Dittisham Hideaway with majestic views from the start. The walk takes around 10-15 minutes with the little ones.

Snuggle up in the treehouse with a book, head to the local attractions which include Dartmouth indoor swimming pool, woodlands theme park at weekend with indoor soft play available and Dartmouth Steam railway.



Coombe Mill – Cornwall

Enjoy a mile walk on the farm searching for all the farm animal residences. The Camel Trail is only 5 minutes away which is flat and buggy friendly.

There is a playroom in most of the lodges, on-site is a games room and indoor soft play.



Valleyside Escapes – Devon

Toddler friendly walks on the doorstep…
Lots of beautiful forest walks nearby with flat paths including Ellerhayes and Broadclyst. The Grand Western Canel in Tierton is a great place for a walk and at the end of the canal basin they have a play park ideal for younger children. Within a 20 minute drive is the National Trust properties Knightshayes and Killerton both have walking trails and outside play areas.
Indoor fun for wet days…
On a wet day in the glamps, the children can get snug in the den and play one of the board games from the games cupboard in the honesty shop. The Devon Railway centre next door has an indoor soft play and undercover play coaches. A trip to Exeter, visit the RAMM museum where there is a huge giraffe to see.
