Yumbox was created by two mums who were keen on developing healthy eating habits in children. They took inspiration from the school lunches that were served to one of their kids in France. They created the Yumbox to be able to recreate this wherever and to encourage nutritionally balanced meals.
The box has compartments for different food groups promoting portion control as well as variation. The lid also seals all the compartments which means no spills !
Another thing we LOVE about Yumbox is how it can be used over and over. We have 2 yumboxes in our house – one was passed down from my mother in law – it is over 10 years old and its still going strong. We were recently sent a new, bigger Yumbox together with the Yumbox Poche (to keep the food cool) to review on days out.
Every time we took it out, it was the talk of all the mums – everyone loved the look and idea of the Yumbox. My daughter will start having lunch at school in September and I will be sending hers in her Yumbox for sure.
They are great when you’re going out for the day as you can pack a healthy lunch and not have to settle for fried, expensive cafe food ! Ours also came in handy on our recent holiday to Lanzarote – we were staying in an All Inclusive resort and I would take my Yumbox with to breakfast and ensure Georgia had enough from the buffet to keep her going until dinner – meaning our mealtimes weren’t dictated around her! Theres nothing worse than having to eat dinner at 5pm – well for me anyway !
You can get your own Yumbox here. They start at £18.50 for the Mini snack boxes so they are on the higher end but are well worth it. Considering our one Yumbox is still going strong 10 years later speaks wonders.
