Our lovely owners Peter and Nancy have taken the time to share tips for guests when staying with them at La Manoir De St Marcel in the Dordogne region France.
We asked them what their top three days out for families would be and this is what they said…
”1. Les Jardins de Marqueyssac – a candlelit evening, Thursday evenings in July & August.
2. Sarlat. – A very popular tourist destination in France. – Rightly so!
3. Canoeing on the Dordogne. – With the caveat that children must be able to swim. ”
We also asked them their top three days at La Manoir De St Marcel itself…
”1. Enjoy our large swimming pool. Meet new playmates, or just chill out. It hardly ever gets crowded!
2. Sit on your terrace & enjoy a BBQ, or share a glass of wine with your neighbours in the communal area.
3. Take a walk along the country paths at sunset, & meet deer, wild birds of prey, & perhaps other animals.”
La Manoir is a small collection of rustic self-catering gites set in the Aquitaine region of France. The estate is situated in a lovely parkland of the south facing side of a wonderful valley overlooking a small village. Surrounding La Manoir is wildlife including large birds and red squirrels, living in the wildflowers and plants.
All gites come with a private terrace and BBQ, they range in sizes from sleeping just 2 with baby right up to 13 in their stunning manor house.
Onsite as owners have said above there is a enclosed heated swimming pool perfect to have a splash around and cool off. A plan barn for the younger kids that may need a little shade and an outdoor play area with slides and frames. For the older kids and you adults they have a fab large play barn with a pool table, table tennis and even a pinball machine.
From the doorstep are some fabulous walks and cycle routes. Mountain bikes for all ages can be hired locally and delivered!
